2024 Second Amended GSP​

  • On November 13, 2024, the Mid-Kaweah GSA Board of Directors adopted the 2024 Second Amended Groundwater Sustainability Plan.

Water Year 2025 Allocation

  • On July 9, 2024, the Mid-Kaweah GSA Board certified the resolution stating: 

    • Water Year 2025 Allocation is 1.83 AF/A

      • Native Yield - 0.83 AF/A at $0/AF

      • Tier 1 - 0.5 AF/A at $10/AF for surface water users

      • Tier 1 - 0.5 AF/A at $160/AF for groundwater dependent parcels​​

      • Tier 2 - 0.5 AF/A at $10/AF for surface water users​

      • Tier 2 - 0.5 AF/A at $210/AF for groundwater dependent parcels

      • Mitigation Tier - 0.5 AF/A  at $260/AF​

      • Penalty Tier - 1.0 AF/A  at $500/AF

​Mid-Kaweah GSA Emergency Ordinance Updates​​
  • Mid-Kaweah GSA has moved to having a Reservation Invoice to purchase allocation toward the beginning of each water year and a True-Up Invoice to only invoice groundwater usage exceedances. ​
  • On December 10, 2024, the Mid-Kaweah GSA Board voted to extend the hard deadline for the 2023 True-Up and 2024 Reservation Invoices to January 24, 2024.
    • The hard deadline is on the purchase of allocation or to inform Mid-Kaweah GSA to decline allocation.
Kaweah Subbasin Data Management System (DMS)

The new web-based platform displays data used in the subbasin groundwater sustainability plans (GSPs) and annual reports in a way that's transparent and accessible to the public.

The Mid-Kaweah Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) is working to improve groundwater management by gauging its usage and depletion, improving groundwater recharge and increasing the number and effectiveness of storage facilities for the betterment of our communities and businesses. 
 
The GSA is comprised of partnering agencies, the City of Visalia, the City of Tulare and the Tulare Irrigation District. The GSA will develop the Groundwater Sustainability Plan for the Mid-Kaweah region based on accurate data and input from interested parties.
